Legal Support Services specialises in professional training and
consultancy for solicitors, accountants and financial advisers, on
all aspects of advising the Older Client.
The organisation was founded by Tish Hanifan.
Tish was called to the Bar at Grays Inn in 1984.
She has over 20 years. experience in the field of the older client and is a
leading authority in this field, lecturing, training, consulting and writing
extensively on all aspects of working with older clients.
Tish trains, lectures and consults throughout the UK to professionals from
many of the leading financial institutions, accountancy and solicitors firms
and specialist groups.
She is also actively involved in working with the financial services
sector to ensure best practice in advising the Older Client. She has sat on
both the Financial Services Authority working party and the Financial Skills
Council steering group considering regulation of Long Term Care
Insurance.
She helped to produce both the Appropriate Exam Standards and the
Appropriate Advice standard for LTC (National Occupational Standards)
She has also been a member of the Financial Services Skills Council
working parties on both Generic Financial Advice and setting Appropriate
Exam Standards for both Home Reversion Plans and Equity Release
Tish is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP)
and sits on their Kent Committee.
She is a founder member and Board Director of Solicitors for the Elderly
and is their Regional Co-ordinator for Kent where she lives.
In January 2009 Tish became Jt Chair of the Society of Later Life
Advisers [SOLLA]
SOLLA was founded in 2008 as a not for profit organisation, to meet the
need of consumers, advisers and those who provide financial products and
services to the Later Life market
